DubEval 0.1.1: works on company networks
Model downloads and Perso links now work behind company proxies and security software, and a blocked connection tells you what to ask IT.
DubEval 0.1.1 is out. It fixes one problem that stopped some people on their first day: on many company networks, model downloads and Perso share links failed with “check your internet connection”, even though the browser worked fine.
What was wrong
Company networks often inspect secure traffic with security software that re-signs every site with the company’s own certificate. Windows trusts that certificate, so the browser worked. DubEval’s built-in Python only trusted its own certificate list, so it refused those connections.
What changed
- DubEval now trusts the same certificates as Windows. If your browser can open a site, DubEval can too.
- It finds your proxy the way Windows does, including configuration scripts and automatic detection.
- A blocked connection says so. Instead of a vague network error, DubEval tells you whether a secure connection or a proxy was blocked, and what to ask your IT team. The technical details go to the log.
- The FAQ lists the sites to allow, so IT can unblock exactly what DubEval needs.
